Louise Lamb, 91
Louise Lamb, age 91, of Spring Valley died Friday, May 30, at the Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Verah Louise was born Jan. 4, 1923, to Louie and Verah (Utter) Beck in Spring Lake Township, Wis.
On Nov. 8, 1942, Louise married Merton Lamb at her parent's home in Spring Valley. Merton and Louise farmed east of Elmwood for a few years, then in Cady Township. They sold their farm to the Corps of Engineers when the Spring Valley Dam was built and purchased a farm in Cady Township where they farmed until 1992.
Louise was a cook at Crystal Cave and later worked 23 years at Spring Valley High School, serving as head cook for many years.
Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy; daughter-in-law, Kathy Lamb; and great-grandson, Noah Lamb; in-laws, Berneda and Frank Donely, Edith and Jasper Jensen, and Marian and Clair Carpenter.
Survived by her husband, Merton of Spring Valley; four sons: Thomas (Sherry) Lamb of Somonauk, Ill., Charles (Barb) Lamb of Wilson, Douglas (Sherry) Lamb of Hudson, and Bill Lamb of Menomonie; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at the Wilson Lutheran Church, Wilson, Wisconsin. Burial was in the Spring Lake Cemetery, Spring Lake Township, Wisconsin.
