Lynx guard Wiggins out for season with injury
MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota Lynx guard Candice Wiggins has surgery today to repair a torn Achilles tendon in her left leg. She was hurt in the closing seconds of Tuesday's win in New York City and is out for the rest of the season.
Wiggins was the top pick for the Lynx in last year's WNBA Draft and was averaging 13 points, three rebounds and two assists in eight games this season. She missed the first six games of the year after having arthroscopic knee surgery.
The Lynx are riding a three-game winning streak heading into tomorrow's game at San Antonio.
