Mayo medical students, volunteers prepare for Zombie Apocalypse
ROCHESTER -- Mayo Medical students and Boy and Girl Scout volunteers experienced first-hand what it may be like if there is a zombie apocalypse.
Disaster training helps emergency response crews sharpen their skills in the event of a tragic event, and this year's in Rochester may have been the most unique yet. The CDC has protocol in place in case of an infectious outbreak, or what some would call a "zombie apocalypse," and participants learned Saturday how to deal with just such an event.
Organizers also say the zombie apocalypse drill prepares everyone for multiple types of disaster scenarios, making the training even more useful.
