McDonald's opening delayed due to weather
The Ellsworth Village Board unanimously agreed Monday to amend a developer's agreement which will push back the opening of the new McDonald's Restaurant to August.
The developers, Phyllis and Daniel Acker of Stanley, had requested the change as a contingency. They still hope to have the building open by July, as construction on the Midway project has been slowed down due to continued cold weather well past the first day of spring.
The board set April 20-27 for village's spring clean-up. The village demo site will be open from noon-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Yard waste, brush and leaves will be accepted free of charge and all items must be dumped from plastic bags and containers. Village residents must have a 2012 dump sticker to enter the village demo site. Such stickers are available at the village hall. Village officials also encourage residents to dispose of unsightly debris, junk and inoperable and unregistered vehicles during the spring clean-up.
