Medal of Honor meeting
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

Ellsworth School District employees Jon Dodge, Tim Brunner, Tim Conway and Joe Williams had the honor of meeting one of only 77 surviving Medal of Honor recipients at a workshop put on by the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation in Stillwater, Minn. He is Roger Donlon, Captain, U.S. Army, Detatchment A-726, Seventh Special Forces Group (Airborne), First Special Forces, who served multiple tours in Vietnam and earned the nation's highest honor for valor for the lives he saved one fateful day in July, 1964. It was an amazing privilege to listen and talk to such a heroic, well-spoken and humble individual. There are plans to incorporate curriculum from the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation into the school district's character education lessons. (Submitted photo)
