Meixner named Jail Sergeant

Phil Meixner was named earlier this year as a Sergeant in the Jail/Dispatch of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

Meixner is an Ellsworth native who graduated from EHS in 1992. He spent nearly nine years as a jailer/dispatcher before getting the promotion.

“I like working in the jail/dispatch group because of the close-knit group setting of near constantly working together with others to do the best job we can,” he explained. “I also like the variety and ever changing job that is jail/dispatch. Every phone call and every person being brought into the jail is a new and changing story.”

After high school graduation, Meixner went to Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire where he earned a degree in Protective Services.

“What drew me to law enforcement was a couple positive interactions I had with law enforcement in high school and a desire to help others and be a positive part of the community,” he said.
