Menomonie rallies to upend Prescott in WBA title game

Brady Randolph lines up his bat to make a hit.

OSSEO - Prescott's 4-0 lead couldn't hold up as Menomonie rallied to win the Wisconsin Baseball Association (WBA) championship Sunday afternoon at Merchant's Park.

Prescott scored all four of its runs in the first inning, two of them coming off a home run by Jared Powell. But Menomonie came back to plate two runs in the fourth and then another five in the sixth innings off seven hits. They added another run in the eighth.

Nick Johnson, Jake Kruschke and Jim French each had two hits for the Pirates and Johnson hit a double.

This is the second time Prescott finished runner-up in 2007 as well. Menomonie won its WBA first title since 1989.
