Midwest Airlines announces lay offs
Midwest Airlines says it plans to lay off 166 employees at the end of the month.
The company is blaming "unforeseen business circumstances."
Those layoffs will hit the staff at Midwest headquarters, pilots and flight attendants.
The airline has filed its layoff notice with the state Department of Workforce Development.
Midwest was recently purchased by Republic Airways of Indianapolis.
Though it keeps its name, it is likely some staff consolidations will be forthcoming.
