Mill rate of 10.27 in '11-'12 Ellsworth Schools budget plan
A mill rate of 10.27 was included in the 2011-12 budget proposal presented at the Ellsworth School District's annual meeting Monday.
The rate represents tax per $1,000 of valuation. It compares to a 9.55 rate for the 2010-11 year.
The total school tax levy in the '11-'12 proposal amounts to $8,619,845. The revenue cap in the plan is $15,728,000 and state equalization aid is $8,561,320, a decrease from the previous year.
In his presentation, Superintendent Barry Cain emphasized all budget figures are estimates. Several factors will affect final figures, Cain said, such as third-Friday-in-September official enrollment, state funding certification in mid-October and district property values.
