Minnesota Congressman Tim Walz is blasting U.S House of Representatives leadership for taking a five-week recess without sending the farm bill to conference committee. Speaking on the House floor this morning, Walz (DFL-Mankato) said he wanted to know why Congress was going home when, in his words....."across the country farmers and ranchers have been up for hours quietly going about their business of feeding, clothing and powering the world." Walz called for Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to appoint farm bill conferees. The Senate last night named its panel of conferees, including Minnesota's Amy Klobuchar (DFL-Plymouth).
