POMONA, N.Y. - The St. Paul Saints snapped a three game losing streak with an 8-5 win on Monday night over the Rockland Boulders.

The Saints scored three runs in the seventh and eighth innings on their way to victory. Starter Mark Hamburger went 6 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and five runs while recording five strikeouts. The same two teams will go at it again tonight, first pitch set for 7:00 p.m. from Provident Bank Park.

The University of Minnesota athletic department continues to take the show on the road this summer. The "Gopher Road Trip: Chalk Talk" tour began last month and will continue with various visits around the state through June 20th. The visits to 16 Minnesota cities and towns will feature guest appearances from football coach Jerry Kill, men's basketball coach Richard Pitino, men's hockey coach Don Lucia, athletic director Norwood Teague, and other coaches and Gopher dignitaries. Here is a list of the remaining towns and cities which are part of the "Gopher Road Trip" (for specific info on each stop, log on to the Gopher athletic department webpage):

The Big Ten announced their conference football schedule for the 2015 season yesterday which will consist of eight games for each of the Big Ten's 14 teams before the conference moves to nine-game schedules in 2016.

The Big Ten Conference announced yesterday that men's and women's lacrosse will become the conference's 27th and 28th official sports and that Johns Hopkins University has been accepted as a sport affiliate member for men's lacrosse only beginning with the 2014-15 academic year. Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers will have teams on both the men's and women's side plus John Hopkins will compete in men's only while Northwestern will compete only in women's lacrosse.

The Minnesota Vikings resume offseason Organized Team Activities today at Winter Park in Eden Prairie. Today is the first of three daily workouts this week that will continue through Thursday. Next week concludes the OTA's followed by the final week of the offseason program which will feature a three-day mandatory mini-camp.

The Minnesota Vikings will host 50 Special Olympic Minnesota athletes from across the state on Wednesday at Winter Park for a Punt, Pass and Kick clinic. The athletes will watch the team practice then take the field and be put through various punt, pass and kick stations and collect autographs. Vikings players scheduled to put on the clinic include Christian Ponder, Jerome Simpson, Cordarrelle Patterson and Chris Cook amongst others.

The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that they have agreed to terms with Finnish goaltender Antti Raanta on a one-year contract. The 24 year old posted a record of 21-10-11 with a 1.85 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage in 45 games last season with Assat Pori of SM-liiga in Finland. He also had five shutouts. Raanta was the league leader in goals-against average and save percentage. In addition to leading his team to the championship, he was named as the Most Valuable Player of the regular season and playoffs and was named the best goaltender in the league. Other teams such as the Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild also held interest in Raanta.

The 2013 Boys State High School Tennis Tournament gets underway starting today through Friday in both Class A and AA. Breck School of Golden Valley in Class A and Elk River in Class AA have both qualified to defend their titles. Breck is in the hunt for their eighth title while Elk River is looking for their second. Senior Myles Tang of Breck is the only singles player returning to defend a title. He's looking for his third consecutive Class A crown. All Class A matches will take place at Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center in Minneapolis and all Class AA matches will be played at Baseline Tennis Center on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.
