MINNESOTA SPORTS ROUND-UP: Vonn back on the slopes for first time since injury
LAKE LOUISE, Alberta -- Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, originally from Minnesota, says she's ready to hit the slopes in Lake Louise, Canada.
It will be her first World Cup start since injuring a knee last February. Vonn's comeback was interrupted by crash while training in Colorado last month. In a note posted on Facebook yesterday, Vonn said she feels confident and "can't wait" for her first race this weekend.
The Minnesota Wild try for their third straight win with a game tonight in Columbus, Ohio. The Wild skated by Chicago 4-3 last night in St. Paul. Columbus last played on Tuesday night, beating Tampa Bay 1-0. Minnesota enters tonight's game with a 17-8-5 record, good enough for sixth in the NHL Western Conference standings. The Blue Jackets are 11-14-3 on the season and currently not in a playoff position. The puck is set to drop at 6 p.m. tonight.
