The Minnesota Vikings snapped the Philadelphia Eagles' five-game winning streak with a 48-30 win in Minneapolis yesterday. Vikes quarterback Matt Cassel passed for 382 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score to lead the way. Minnesota third-string running back Matt Asiata rushed for three touchdowns as Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart sat out with injuries. Greg Jennings caught 11 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown for the winning team. It was a career high in catches for Jennings and his first 100-yard game of the season. The Vikings moved to 4-9-and-1. Philadelphia dropped to 8-and-6 with the NFC East title still up for grabs. Nick Foles passed for 428 yards and threw three touchdowns though he was picked off once DeSean Jackson caught 10 passes for 195 yards including a touchdown. The Vikings are at Cincinnati next Sunday.

Minnesota star forward Kevin Love posted 30 points and nine rebounds to power the Timberwolves to a 101-93 win over the Grizzlies in Memphis last night. Nikola Pekovic added 19 points and five boards for Minnesota, which has won three-of-four. J.J. Barea had 15 points off the bench in the win. Zach Randolph totaled 20 points and 12 boards for Memphis, which has lost three straight. Mike Conley scored a team-high 28 points in the setback. Orono native Jon Leuer scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Memphis. The Wolves are at Boston tonight.

The Minnesota Golden Gopher men's basketball team enjoyed the weekend off and will return to action this Friday at home against Nebraska-Omaha. The Gophers have won four in-a-row following last Tuesday's 75-59 victory over South Dakota State Minnesota sits at 9-and-2 on the season.

The Minnesota Wild are back home to take on the Vancouver Canucks tomorrow night in St. Paul. Minnesota will then head back out for a four-game road trip to Pittsburgh, New York, Philadelphia and Winnipeg. The Wild went 1-and-2 on their recent three-game trek to the west coast. They sit at 19-11-and-5 on the season. The Canucks have won seven straight to improve to 20-10-and-5.

The Minnesota Twins have agreed to re-sign right-hander Mike Pelfrey to a two-year deal. The contract is reportedly worth 11-million-dollars with up to 3.5-million-dollars in incentives. The 29-year-old went 5-and-13 with a 5.19 ERA in 29 starts last year for Minnesota. Pelfrey is 55-and-67 with a 4.48 ERA over 182 career games.
