MINNESOTA SPORTS ROUNDUP: Gopher hoops beat Purdue
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota senior guard Austin Hollins recorded 18 points and nine rebounds as Minnesota topped Purdue 82-79 on Sunday at Williams Arena. Gopher junior Andre Hollins added 17 points and DeAndre Mathieu had 11 for the Golden Gophers, who improved to 12-and-3 and 1-and-1 in the Big Ten. The Gophers built a 19-point second half lead, but the Boilermakers rallied to within three points in the closing moments. Purdue is now 10-and-5 overall and 0-and-2 in the league.
