Missing Cottage Grove man died of gunshot wound, autopsy shows
COTTAGE GROVE, Minn. -- Cottage Grove native Jamie Wylie, whose body was found in central Minnesota last week, died of a gunshot wound, authorities said Wednesday.
Wylie, who had been missing since December, died as a result of homicidal violence by gunshot wound, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office announced as it sought the public’s help in the death investigation. The cause of death was determined in an autopsy conducted by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
Wylie’s body was found March 25 on the side of County Road 75 between Mayhew Lake Road and East St. Germain Street in Benton County, near St. Cloud. He was last seen Dec. 9, when he reportedly left a friend’s St. Cloud apartment. He did not have a car and it was unclear how he left.
Wylie was married and had a young son. His wife lived in Foley, near St. Cloud.
