Necedah's Sauter wins first truck race this season
FT. WORTH, Tex. - Taking the lead with 10 laps to go, Necedah's Johnny Sauter won the WinStar World Casino 350 Camping World Truck Series race in Fort Worth last night.
That's the second victory of the season for the Wisconsin driver, and both have come at the Texas Motor Speedway. Sauter's winning average speed was almost 155 miles per hour, setting a track record for the truck series. Parker Kligerman finished second, with Nelson Piquet Junior third. Sauter is ninth in the point standings with two races left in the season.
Points leader Jimmie Johnson starts on the pole at tomorrow's Triple-A Texas 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway. Johnson won last week's race after earning the pole position to start. Matt Kenseth is eighth in the standings for the Chase for the Sprint Cup, 65 points behind Johnson with three races left, counting tomorrow. He starts 10th. Other Wisconsin drivers competing in Fort Worth tomorrow are Eau Claire's Paul Menard starting 27th, Beloit-born Danica Patrick starting 32nd and Janesville Travis Kvapil starting 38th.
