Drivers leaving River Falls past the hospital/clinic on County Road M or entering from the other direction will need to ease up on the gas.

New 45 mph speed limit signs got posted July 21 on County M between Meadows Drive eastward to just beyond Liberty Road.

The old speed limit for that 1/3 mile stretch was 55 mph.

City and St. Croix County engineers studied the hilly, winding stretch of road after hearing traffic speed concerns from area residents.
