No. 7 Frederic 'storms' Elmwood 39-0
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

Frederic running back Tony Peterson rushed for nearly 200 yards and scored three touchdowns. Vikings' quarterback Ben Ackerley scored on a quarterback sneak and threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to receiver Josiah Lund.

The Raiders' ground game was bottled up by the bigger Vikings and the gale-force winds prevented any extensive passing. Frederic scored 31 of its points when it had the wind, pinning Elmwood in its territory. The Raiders had two punts partially blocked.

"It's been the story of our season," Elmwood head coach Jerry Hannack said. "When we can control the line of scrimmage we can play the way we want on both sides of the ball. When we can't, results like this happen."

The game was delayed several times because the lights on the field went out due to circuit breakers tripped when water blew in them from the wind. At the 3:00 of the fourth quarter, the game was called.

Frederic (9-1) will play at No. 6 Gilman (9-1) Saturday while Elmwood finishes its season 6-4.
