Pack begins OTA this week
GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers are starting their organized team activities this week.
One of the big questions involves the possibility of replacing Randall Cobb as the main punt-and-kickoff returner. James Nixon, Jordy Nelson, and Tramon Williams joined Cobb at fielding kicks today at the Packers' first workout open to fans and reporters. With the departure of Donald Driver and Greg Jennings, Cobb has a bigger role in the Green Bay offense this year. And after he hurt an ankle returning a punt late last year, some fans wondered if Cobb should save his energy for the offense.
Head Coach Mike McCarthy recently said he wasn't ready to simply pull Cobb from his kick return duties. He said it's more important for the players to decide the positions by how much they step up. McCarthy said it's all about opportunities. Sam Shields and Jeremy Ross have also been mentioned as possible return candidates.
