The cookbook, appropriately named "The Taste of Pierce County," will feature recipes in several categories, including but not limited to: main dishes, side dishes, meats, desserts, cakes, cookies, jams, pickling and beverages. One section will feature family and favorite recipes of Bev and Roger Peterson, the 2010 host family.

The cookbook is a promotional tool to help stimulate interest in the event as well as to raise additional funds to offset some of the expenses of the show. It also provides a platform to showcase the different heritages within the community.

To properly showcase Pierce County, all residents throughout the county are encouraged to submit recipes. This is your county and your Farm Technology Days, so to make it successful, we need everyone's support. So please encourage friends, family members and neighbors to submit recipes as well.

If you have one or more favorite recipes that you would be willing to share, please send an e-mail to Carolyn Fenske at piercecookbook@gmail.com or send them to Pierce County Farm Technology Days, P.O. Box 69, Ellsworth, WI, 54011. The deadline for submitting recipes is Jan. 30, 2009.

The cookbooks will be on sale prior to and during the event. So look for future information regarding how to obtain your copy of this special collection.
