The family pastor of a 2-year-old boy who was found dead in a car trunk says the keys were with the boy.

Reverend Rick Van Gundy says the family of Isaiah Theis told him about the keys, but did not want to give more information because of the sensitive situation. Theis went missing on Tuesday night in Polk County, he was found dead in the trunk of a car on Wednesday night. Authorities say the boy likely died of hyperthermia due to the heat.

Van Gundy told a television station that he looked inside the same vehicle on Tuesday night, but did not think to unlock the trunk. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
