PC volleybal team takes on C-FC semis
Plum City and Cochrane-Fountain City is the match-up in Friday's WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal at C-FC.
Both teams faced each other at the Durand Quadrangular back on Sept. 2. The Pirates won two games to the Blue Devils one. The Pirates are led by their big quick blocked, senior Kelly McCamley, led the team in kills in their 3-0 win over Elmwood in the first round Tuesday.
PC is also coming off a 3-0 win at home vs. Independence. Bri Sigler led the Blue Devils with seven aces while Jordyn Mark had seven kills.
The winner of this semifinal faces either Alma or Pepin in the regional final Saturday evening at the higher seeds home gym. Alma has beaten all three semifinal teams during the regular season. Match time is at 7 p.m.
Plum City's Marah Boyer finished fifth this season in kills in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference. Boyer tallied 118 kills. Leading the league was Elk Mound's Kayla Kurtzhals with 200.
PC's Morgan Sweeney was third in the D-SC in assists with 203. Just ahead of her was Spring Valley's Tana O'Keefe with 220 and in first was Elk Mound's Becca Kopp with 342.
PC's Taylor Ike finished fifth in the league in digs with 194. The conference's dig leader was Boyceville's Desiree O'Connell with 451.
