PCHA Barn Photo Contest updated
For those who have picked up the entry forms/rules listing for the PCHA Barn Photo Contest, this is a reminder now is the time to get started taking barn pictures.
Sunny days with fall color reaching past its peak is a good time to go out and take pictures. But winter whites, with snow, bare trees and sun also gives unique light and shadow opportunities.
Two tips learned for taking pictures: shoot before 10 a.m. and in the late afternoon hours, as the sun is not so glaringly bright. Work with the sun behind, not shining into the camera, which is pretty obvious.
Remember, enter as many photos as desired--either color or B&W, but they must be prints--up to 8X10 inches in size.
Photos of barns in the county no longer standing can also be entered.
Prints may be mailed to the following address: PCHA, P.O. Box 148, Ellsworth, WI. 54011
Or they may be brought to the PCHA office, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1-4 p.m. The office is located in the lower level of the Ellsworth Village Hall, which is behind the Ellsworth Public Library.
Please be sure to properly identify with a note card for each photo. Give name, address and phone number, as well as a clear identification of the barn's location: Fire number, township, address (if available) and date the photo was taken.
Happy barn hunting/photographing!
