Pepin County Fair this weekend in Arkansaw
ARKANSAW - The 134th Pepin County Fair takes place this weekend at the county fairgrounds in Arkansaw which is located next to Arkansaw Elementary School. Admission is free.
This year's theme is "Small County, Big Fun" and it will be the first time a social garden will be at the fair Friday and Saturday in conjuction with live music. The social garden will run from 8 p.m. until midnight. Music on Friday will be from the band "Midnight Special" and on Saturday from "The Boogiemen". The musical group "Hot Flashes" will perform again at the fair starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday. All music shows will take place in the main tent. The Pepin County Talent Show will also take place there from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday. Pierce/Pepin Co-op will be holding powerline safety demos on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
Other fair highlights that are new this year include a wine tasting by Villa Bellazza of Pepin from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, a kids pedal tractor pull from 5-7 p.m. with registration at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, the 4-H 5K Splash Dash which takes place on Sunday at 8 a.m., a 4-H Olympics competition starting at 1 p.m. Sunday and horse trail ride by the Pepin Trailblazers Horse Club starting at 9 a.m. Sunday followed by their annual show at 11 a.m. An outdoor ecumenical service Sunday starting at 10 a.m., a salute to our nation's armed forces at 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
The fair auction will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday. There will also be a classic car cruise starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, Bingo by the Durand Optimist Club at 3 p.m. Saturday, the annual Guess the Gadget event at 11 a.m. on Sunday, the Kiddie and Pet Parade at noon on Saturday and animal ultrasounds at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Food, kids games, inflatables and a kids' train ride will also be available. The fair opens at 9 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The fair closes at 4 p.m. Sunday. You can see the full schedule including judging times by clicking on the link below.
