PHS girls have best showing on offense this season, beat Hastings

Prescott's Cassie Murphy goes in for a lay-up past Hastings's defense.

PRESCOTT - Prescott High School's girls basketball team had its best showing on offense this season against its river rivals Hastings and wound up with an easy 59-33 win at home.

The Cardinals actually trailed 9-8 after the first quarter before outscoring the Raiders 24-6 in the second quarter. Prescott's second quarter scoring total was one point shy of the total amount of points they scored 72-hours before against Durand.

Mary Kate Pryor led Prescott in scoring with 17 points and Cassie Murphy and Georgia Bowen were also in double figures for PHS. The Cards' had nine players score at least a basket.
