Kuehni sentenced to probation, jail time in fatal shooting case

PIERCE COUNTY GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUND-UP: EHS wins MBC game on Senior Night

Ellsworth High School's girls basketball team avoided going winless in Middle Border Conference play by defeating Osceola 55-47 Thursday evening at home on Senior Night.

EHS had lost to the Chieftains 50-46 just two nights before but came back to close its regular season with a victory. The Panthers are 2-19 overall.

Also in MBC action from Thursday, Prescott, playing its first game in over a week, dropped a 48-33 decision to New Richmond, giving the Tigers a share of the conference title with Baldwin-Woodville, which defeated Durand last evening as well. Both teams finish conference play at 13-1. PHS, 10-10 overall, has one more league game to complete and it will be played Saturday afternoon in Prescott against Durand.

In the Dunn-St. Croix Conference, Spring Valley lost its regular season finale 69-36 at Mondovi. Nevada Schlegel led the Cardinals in scoring with 12 points. SV completes its regular season at 5-15 overall. Also wrapping up last evening was Plum City. The Blue Devils lost a close contest to St. Croix Central 47-43 in Hammond. PC is 6-14 overall.

Elmwood plays its final regular season game tonight vs. Boyceville in Elmwood.

WIAA regional first round games for Pierce County teams take place in Tuesday.
