PIERCE COUNTY GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUND-UP: SV, Prescott continue winning streaks

The winning streaks continued Monday evening for the Prescott and Spring Valley girls basketball teams.

Prescott won its second contest in a row by a 54-17 score over Elmwood at home while Spring Valley won its third contest in a row, beating Clear Lake 51-22 in Spring Valley.

Nevada Schlegel scored 16 points for Spring Valley as the Cardinals led from start to finish against the Warriors in a non-conference contest.

Kellie Magee scored 12 points to lead Prescott in a match-up of schools from each end of Pierce County.

Both Spring Valley and Prescott will be in action again tonight to continue those streaks. Prescott hosts Ellsworth and Spring Valley hosts Elk Mound in a 6 p.m. contest at SVHS.

Another girls' team in action from last evening was Plum City. However, the Blue Devils' losing streak continued as they were beaten by Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran on the road 69-49. Cheyanne Catura led PC in scoring with 19 points and Taylor Chilson finished with 14 points.
