PIERCE COUNTY PREP SCOREBOARD: Prescott softball snaps losing streak

Prescott High School's softball team snapped a three-game losing streak by beating Somerset 8-2 Thursday afternoon at Biggs Field in Prescott.

The win put the Cardinal softball team back over .500 at 4-3 overall and again at .500 in the Middle Border Coneference at 3-3.

Prescott was the only MBC softball team to get a game in yesterday. Ellsworth's home game with Durand was postponed until Saturday when the Panther will play their Highway 10 east rivals in Arkansaw at 10 a.m. This afternoon Ellsworth hosts Amery in a doubleheader at Brown Field at Hager City starting at 4 p.m.

EPC's softball team was able to get in a doublheader with Colfax in yesterday in Elmwood. Unfortunately the Wolves dropped both games 13-9 and 10-9 to fall to 3-4 overall and in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference.

Elmwood's baseball also played yesterday afternoon. The Raiders lost at St. Croix Central 14-8.

An MBC golf meet took place at Pheasant Hills in Hammond and hosted by Baldwin-Woodville. EHS finished fourth and Prescott sixth.
