PIERCE COUNTY SCOREBOARD: County teams lose in D-SC action

Pierce County Dunn-St. Croix Conference teams were beaten in baseball and softball action from last evening.

The Elmwood baseball team was edged by Alma/Pepin 6-5 in Elmwood. The Raiders scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to get within a run of the Eagles but it wasn't enough. Noah Wells had two hits plus an RBI and Ryan Asher belted a double for Elmwood. A/P  improves to 5-1 in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference South Division, 8-2 overall.

Alma/Pepin overwhelmed Spring Valley's softball team with a 9-5 win at Pepin Monday. All of SV's runs in the fifth inning but were behind 6-0 by then. The Cardinals were outhit 14-8 and they committed eight errors. Tana O'Keefe had three hits and an RBI for Valley and teammate Alison Von Haden had two hits.

Altoona swept Ellsworth in tennis 7-0

Spring Valley's golf team finished third in a D-SC Meet in Mondovi with a score of 187.

Ellsworth's baseball team had its game at Somerset postponned and Prescott's game at New Richmond was moved to Friday.

The MBC golf meet at Amery was postponned as well.
