Pierce County under a tornado warning
The National Weather Service (NWS) in the Twin Cities issued a severe thunderstrom warning for Pierce County until 3:30 p.m. today.
The NWS is reporting that at 2:41 p.m., radar indicated a storm capable of producing a tornado with the most dangerous part of the storm six miles southwest of River Falls or five miles northeast of Prescott. The storm is moving east at 35 miles per hour. Law enforcement reported a rotating wall cloud near Roberts at 2:45 p.m.
Locations in the warning include River Falls, Ellsworth, Spring Valley and Elmwood.
Pierce County is also under a tornado watch until 4 p.m.
