Pirates play in state tournament tonight

OSCEOLA - The Prescott Pirates play their Wisconsin Baseball Association state quarterfinal contest this evening at Oakey Field in Osceola

The Pirates go up against River Falls with the first pitch approximately at 9 p.m. If Prescott wins they will play again tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. against either Osceola or Sparta. They will play the first game tonight at 6:30 p.m.

The other quarterfinal match-ups have the Haugen Knights against Menomonie at 10 a.m. Saturday and Brill against Chaesburg-Coon Valley at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The state finals are set for noon on Sunday.

Prescott made those state finals last year in Osseo and finished runner-up to Menomonie.

Prescott played River Falls in the regular season back in early June and won 8-2.  Prescott also beat Menomonie and Osceola as well in St. Croix Valley League play.

This is the Pirates seventh WBA state tournament appearance.
