COLFAX - Spring Valley High School's football team set itself up for a possible playoff bid in their final regular season game after shutting out Colfax 14-0 Wednesday evening.

Spring Valley gained over a 100 yards rushing and had its best passing yardage totals in weeks. Quarterback Jon Newton led SV's short passing game, throwing 8-for-18 for 60 yards. Andrew Bune caugh three passes for 31 yards, including a three-yard TD pass.

Kyle Bosshart led the Cardinals in rushing with 81 yards on 13 carries, including a 26-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Valley improves to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference. They need to beat top-ranked Mondovi next Thursday at Syverson Park to clinch a playoff bid.
