Plum City girls stuggle in second quarter, lose to Colfax

Shelby Kannel tries to knock the ball away from Colfax's Sara Halpin.

PLUM CITY - Plum City High School's girls team stayed even with Colfax as best it could in the first half. But the Vikings outscored PC 21-9 in the second quarter on their way to a 55-23 win.

A low scoring first quarter saw the Blue Devils almost even with Colfax but once the Vikings started hitting outside shots they began putting distance between themselves and Plum City.

PC also struggled with ball handling against Colfax's press, committing many turnovers.

Colfax padded its lead in the fourth quarter outscoring the home team 14-2.

Tiffany Clare led PC with 10 points and teammate Heather Von Holtum scored six points. The Blue Devils are 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference.
