Plum City High School announces honor students
Plum City High School announced its valedictorians and salutatorians for the Class of 2014. Graduation is set for May 24.
Co-Valedictorian Alexandra Radle
Alexandra Radle has earned the honor of Co-Valedictorian for the Class of 2014 at Plum City High School with a 4.0 GPA. Alexandra is a member of the NHS and was also elected class president during high school.
Alexandra has participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, track, cheerleading, and dance. As the FFA president, she took on many leadership responsibilities including the lawn mower safety presentation at the Ellsworth Safety Day. She volunteers at the local blood drive and has donated several pints of blood to the Red Cross. Alexandra is a talented musician and received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award at the spring music concert. Alexandra has also worked part-time at the Plum City Care Center as a CNA.
Alexandra plans to attend UW-La Crosse and major in Biology, and then pursue her master's degree in her quest to be a Physician's Assistant. Her career goal is to work at a children's hospital.
Co-Valedictorian Sarah Gilles
Sarah Gilles has earned the honor of Co-Valedictorian for the Class of 2014 at Plum City High School with a 4.0 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society and a Kohl Scholarship winner. Sarah participated in drama, forensics, band, choir, cheerleading, dance, and athletics. She was awarded the National Choral award at the High School Spring Concert.
Sarah is a talented three sport athlete with all-conference honors in volleyball, basketball, and track. She has qualified for the state track meet every year and is one of the top hurdlers in the area. Sarah has also been an active volunteer in our community. Participating at the Feed My Starving Children program in the Twin Cities and volunteering at the Red Cross Blood Drive. Sarah also played a key role in planning and giving the closing comments at this year's Veteran's Day program.
Sarah will attend UW-La Crosse and major in a health care field. Her career goal would be an Occupational Therapist or a Social Worker.
Salutatorian Megan Caturia
Megan Caturia has earned the honor of Salutatorian for the Class of 2014 at Plum City High School. Megan is a member of the National Honor Society and participated in volleyball, basketball, track and field, dance, and the FFA. She has served as class vice-president and was one of many standouts in the music program. Megan was selected to the Dunn St. Croix Honors Band and participated in the District Solo and Ensemble Contest.
Megan believes in a strong community and volunteers at various events. She went on a mission trip to Denver this past summer, worked at blood drives, cancer walks, Second Harvest and the Community Table in Eau Claire. She was selected as a D.A.R.E. role model and also works part-time at the Plum City Care Center as a dietician and CNA.
Megan has planned to major in pre-med at UWRF, and then on to med school at the U of M. Her career goal is to receive her doctorate degree in general practice and surgery.
