Plum City takes control in second half, whips Elmwood 34-6
ELMWOOD - Plum City High School's football team scored 27 points in the second half in a 34-6 beating of Elmwood Saturday.
The No. 6 ranked Blue Devils led only 7-0 at halftime but scored on its first possession of the second half on a two-yard TD run by running back Ryan Gillman. Then PC's Matt Heath snagged an interception that set-up the Blue Devils on the Elmwood 26-yard line where Gillman scored again from one-yard out and PC led 21-0 after a Han Lee extra point.
Plum City scored two more TDs in the fourth quarter on runs by Lawton Radle and Bryan Larson while Elmwood avoided the shutout when quarterback Brian Tolonen threw a 22-yard TD pass to Christian Fredrickson.
Chase Luebker had PC's other touchdown, a three-yard run in the first half. Plum City racked up 313 yards of rushing compared to Elmwood's 58. Plum City quarterback Alex Gilles threw for 104 yards.
The Devils spoiled Elmwood's Homecoming, improving to 6-0 overall while the Raiders drop to 3-3. PC will have its own Homecoming game this week vs. Prairie Farm while Elmwood is at Alma-Pepin.
