Prescott band prepares for Disney World trip
PRESCOTT--After a winter of frigid temperatures, the Prescott High School Band is looking forward to their trip to Disney World March 19-25.
This is more than an opportunity to travel somewhere warm, though. Students will experience some exciting hands-on learning opportunities as they work and perform with the Disney musicians.
As the final trip details are put in place, there are some fun and unique ways for the Prescott community to be part of the adventure. One way is to make a donation to cover some of the incidental costs. According to Band Director Jason Canfield, the basic trip costs are covered by students and fundraising efforts. However, there are always extra opportunities beneficial to the students if funds allow.
Another opportunity is taking the trip with the band. There are some extra seats available on the flight, which can be purchased through Suntime Travel in River Falls. Suntime Travel can be reached at 715-425-8200. Complete Disney packages are available, but the opportunity is limited to just a few. It would be a fun way to show support for the band and escape the Wisconsin winter!
Mr. Canfield added how grateful the students are for the community support.
“It’s not just the financial support when we have exciting things happening. The value of attending performances and showing the students how much we appreciate their hard work is vital. Thank you so much to the Prescott community for supporting our student musicians.”
