Prescott, Ellsworth baseball teams continue winning streaks
The Ellsworth and Prescott high school baseball teams continued their winning streaks Tuesday afternoon with a pair of Middle Border Conference wins.
The Panthers downed Osceola 11-1 in five innings at Brown Field in Hager City while Prescott beat Durand 8-1 at Wayne Field in Durand.
EHS jumped all over Osceola in their first at bats, taking a 7-0 lead. Dennis Schutz had three hits to lead the Panthers while Logan Armstrong and Spencer Schroeder both had two hits. Schutz, Schroeder and Brady Yanish each had two RBIs. Yanish was the winning pitcher, he tossed a one-hitter.
Prescott broke open a close game at Durand with a five-run fifth inning. Mike Brookshaw and Justin Lynner both hit RBI-singles and winning pitcher Matt Homan hit a bases clearing double into left-center field.
Both teams are 4-0 in the MBC. Ellsworth is 7-0 overall and Prescott 6-0. Ellsworth is at Amery Friday while Prescott hosts Somerset.
