Prescott girls' golf goes through disappointing sectional meet

SOMERSET - The Prescott High School girls' golf team had a disappointing day at the WIAA Division 2 Somerset Sectional at Bristol Ridge Golf Course.

The Cardinals shot a 466 to finish seventh in the meet out of eighth schools participating. They also had no individual state qualifiers.

PHS's best score came from Megan Westerberg with a 100. She was five strokes from third and last qualifying spot to state.

No. 7 ranked Hayward won the meet with a score of 402 and Spooner was the runner-up with a 406. Qualifying for state was meet medalist Hailey Seifert who shot an 89. Also qualifying was Colfax's Whitney DeMoe, who shot a 95 and Osceola's Meredith Nelson who shot a 90.

The state meet is next Monday and Tuesday at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison.
