Prescott lays claim to being SCVL's best

Email

If the Prescott Pirates are the best team in the St. Croix Valley League, then they made a strong argument for it by beating Osceola and Hager City last weekend.

The Pirates edged Osceola at Okey Park in Osceola 6-5 Friday in a match-up of the teams with the SCVL's best records.

Adam Barta threw a complete game against the Braves to be the winning pitcher. Chris Terrazas had three hits and two RBIs, Brady Randolph hit a solo home run and Billy Brookshaw had two hits and two stolen bases.

Prescott then walloped Hager City 13-3 Sunday at home. Nick Johnson did picked up the win pitching the final 4 innings.

The Pirates have the best record in the league at 9-1. They are also 12-4 overall. They'll maintain that record as they are off this weekend from the league schedule.
