Prescott Police announce 'significant' drug seizure
Prescott Police seized one-and-one-half pounds of marijuana Thursday, May 23, Chief of Police Mike R. Bondarenko announced.
The marijuana was packaged in two large and one small plastic bags. It was seized as part of an ongoing investigation into drug activity by city police. It has an estimated street value of $5,000.
"This is one of the largest marijuana seizures in Prescott history," Bondarenko said. "One and one-half pounds is a very significant seizure."
Police received information from a tipster through the West Central Drug Task Force the marijuana was hidden at a residence in the icty. Officers received permission to search the residence and found the marijuana hidden beneath furniture.
The case will be referred to the Pierce County District Attorney's Office for charges.
