Prescott rallies to beat Ellsworth in volleyball

PRESCOTT - Storming back from a 2-0 deficit the Prescott High Schoopl volleyball team rallied the beat Hwy. 10 rival Ellsworth 3-2 Thursday evening in its Homecoming Week match.

Ellsworth jumped out to big leads and easily took games one and two by scores of 25-19, 25-18. But the Cardinals started their comeback with a huge game three win 25-10. The momentum continued in their favor as they won game four 25-14.  

Game five was more even until PHS's Lily Weiser scored a kill to put Prescott ahead 7-6. They outscored the Panthers 8-3 from there. EHS never got close than 11-9 as the Cards closed them out with a kill from Alexis Maxwell and a pair of aces from Mariah Krings.

Prescott goes back over .500 overall at 12-11, 2-3 in the Middle Border Conference. They play in the Amery Invitational Saturday. Ellsworth took its fourth loss in a row to drop to 8-12, 1-4. They also have a tournament this weekend, in Cannon Falls, Minn.
