Prescott woman launches online personal training program
PRESCOTT--As a certified personal trainer, Lisa Holtan was bothered by the lack of access she could only serve clients in a gym or at their home.
“How can I help more people?” she thought. The answer came to her via the internet, and her website, personaltrainingwithlisa.com, which she launched earlier this year.
“The results have been fantastic,” she said of the 15-20 clients currently signed up. Holtan explained the workouts are geared to the clients’ availability and goals.
“We typically try to keep it to 30 minutes or less,” she said. “They can do the workouts whenever they can--either at the gym or at home.”
Holtan added she checks weekly to see how the clients are doing and how close they are to meeting their goals. Once the clients get going in their workouts, Holtan said meetings are only held once a month--locals in person or on Skype and non-locals on Skype.
“People were sceptical,” Holtan admits, “but we offer the initial one-week free session and that hooks them.”
So far, there have been more women than men who have signed up. She also said, during this past summer, multiple high school athletes signed up, gearing up for the upcoming season.
The online training portion is one link to the personaltrainingwithlisa.com website. Another new link is the Fit 2B wed program, a four-week program tailored for brides-to-be and bridesmaids who want to look their best for the big day.
Holtan has been a certified therapist for the last three years. She is also an Independent Contractor with SNAP Fitness out of Prescott.
“I’ve always liked the health and fitness field,” she said. And when her son, Kyle, started kindergarten three years ago, she was seeking something different.
“I love working with people and helping people reach their goals,” she continued. She added when she hears success stories from clients, it gives her goose bumps. Holtan calls Prescott home with her husband Kevin.
Holtan has also taken advantage of the numerous social media options out there. She is on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and Pinterest with the handle Personal Training with Lisa. She also has a blog on the Areavoices website available on most Rivertowns websites at www.fitnesswithlisa.areavoices.com.
She describes the blog as “has something for everyone,” whether it’s recipes, workout tips and ideas on how to stay motivated, which include workout with a friend and write small, realistic goals and reward oneself for meeting those goals.
Holtan also invited people to call her with additional questions at (763) 234-1192.
