Professor takes aim at “Common Core” in education
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

Dr. Duke Pesta, professor of English at UW-Oshkosh, will discuss the “Common Core State Standards Initiatives” program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Kilkarney Hills Golf Course in River Falls.

Pesta will go over the ongoing struggle to roll back Common Core implementation, and will give examples of how it threatens to undermine, weaken and centralize public and private education.

Pesta has a master's and a doctorate in literature. He has taught at major research institutions, small liberal arts colleges, and has been active in educational reform, developing and implementing an elective Bible course for public school students in Texas, and is the academic director of FreedomProject Education.

There is no charge to attend this presentation sponsored by Wisconsin Constitutional Prayer & Action Group.
