Randall N. Peterson, 69
Randall Norman Peterson, 69, of Bay City, died Monday, July 29, surrounded by his family, at Valentines in Red Wing.
He was born March 19, 1944, in Red Wing, the son of Norman and Ione (Lynner) Peterson. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1962. He married Jonette Blomquist in 1973. They lived in the Bay City area, and they later divorced. He farmed all his life and also worked at Valley Springs Barrel Factory in Esdaile and at Treasure Island.
He was a member of Eidsvold Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. His family also recalls his true love for all animals.
Survivors include four daughters, Angela (Shane) Strain of St. Paul, Kimberly (Casey) O'Reilly of Red Wing, Jennifer (Brady) Scharpen of Bay City, and Kristin (Justin) Mandelkow of Hager City; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Barb (Jack) Noll of Bay City and Bev (Mic Borst) Peterson of Prescott, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Esdaile, with Reverend Mary Eide officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, and on Friday for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
