Redd, Wade get gold as part of Redeem Team

Milwaukee Bucks' guard Michael Redd and former Marquette star Dwayne Wade were the final Wisconsinites to win Olympic medals in Beijing.

Wade led the U.S. with 27 points Sunday in a 118-107 win over Spain for the gold medal. Wade came off the bench and scored 21 in the first half.

Redd played for only a minute, with nothing to show for it. In eight games during the tournament, Redd averaged just over nine minutes of playing time with three points, one rebound, and a half-assist.

Wade was the Americans' top scorer even though he did not start in any of the eight contests. He averaged 16 points, four rebounds, and two assists, and he tied for second on the U.S. squad with 18 total steals.
