Retired sheriff's lieutenant charged with felony theft
A retired sheriff's lieutenant north of Milwaukee has been charged with felony theft.
The state Justice Department accused 55-year-old Dean Roberts of Cedarburg of making 73-hundred-dollars in unauthorized purchases on a credit card owned by the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department. Seventy-three purchases were allegedly made in 2007-and-'08, just before Roberts retired. Officials said Roberts also took 18-hundred-dollars from a department safe to make payments on another credit card.
He's scheduled to make his first court appearance August 25th.
