Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

A River Falls man was found unharmed Saturday night after missing for an hour after his kayak tipped in the Kinnikinnic River.

Tyler Westerdahl, 22, walked out of a cornfield to an awaiting ambulance, reports Pierce County sheriff's deputy Jean Spletstoser.

Spletstoser said in a news release, a town of Clifton resident said around 9:25 p.m., screams for help could be heard coming from the RIver. Information was gathered in which a kayaker tipped in the river and the person had not surfaced. A search was deployed as the river banks were covered on foot and the Pierce County airboat was deployed.

Spletstoser added Westerdahl's kayak was still missing and he wasn't wearing a life vest.

The Sheriff's Department was assisted by Prescott Police Department, River Falls Are Fire, Ambulance and first responders, and Clifton residents.
