River Falls Eco Village dedicated
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

A crowd of about 100 turned out for the Sunday afternoon, April 7, dedication of the Eco Village in River Falls, 114 S. Apollo Road. Phase One of the Eco Village, four twin homes, is nearly completed and the homeowners will soon be moving in. Two more phases will be completed for this St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity environmental home building project by the end of 2014.

New Eco Village homes are designed to be net-zero energy users, meaning, in theory, that they will generate their own power, much of that coming from rooftop-mounted photovoltaic (solar) panels and hot-water arrays.

Sunday afternoon's ceremony including a local pastor's blessing of the project and individual tours and dedications of the four new twin homes.

Parking from all those in attendance spilled out from Apollo Road onto both sides of West Maple Street.
