Rocky road

Email News Alerts

Orange was a color found not only in the fall foliage, but on “Road Closed “ and “Detour” signs posted along CTH K in the southern part of the Town of Trimbelle last week. Several years in the making, the reconstruction of K was underway from east of where it runs north and south to its intersection with CTH KK. In places, rock has been piled up on the sides of the road or earth has been moved. Local traffic is allowed on parts of the stretch itself, which has had portions of its surface removed and some re-grading done, to be followed by installation of new base course and asphalt. Approximately one-half of the 3.2 mile-long section has gotten attention from the Pierce County Highway Department this construction season. (Herald photos by Bill Kirk)
