Rose Brenner, 103
Rose Brenner, age 103, of Ellsworth, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, June 24, at Veteran's Hospital in Minneapolis.
Rose was born Oct. 1, 1910, the daughter of John and Helen (Johnson) Traynor in Rock Elm Township, Pierce County, Wisconsin. She was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in El Paso and was a longtime member of Clayfield and St. Francis Catholic Churches of Ellsworth.
Rose attended elementary school at Olivet and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1928. She continued her education at River Falls Teachers College and taught at the Wood School.
In 1942, she entered the U.S. Navy and served in the W.A.V.E.S. during World War II. On Nov. 11, 1946, Rose married Howard Brenner at Old St. Mary's Catholic Church in San Francisco, California. They owned a farm in Herbert. She was a teacher, homemaker and farm wife. She enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, crocheting, entertaining and being an active member in the church. She was a great friend and neighbor to all.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: her son, Barry (Patty) Brenner of Ellsworth; daughter, Rita (Bill Janisch) Brenner of Maplewood, Minn.; five grandchildren Ruth (Jeremy) Janisch Lake, Stacy (Valentino) Janisch Aqurrie, Jeremy (Mandee) Brenner, Blake (Rachael) Brenner, and Brittany Brenner; six great-grandchildren; and many other loved relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
Pallbearers: Jeremy Brenner, Blake Brenner, John Traynor, Jim Traynor, Greg Traynor and Gary Traynor.
Honorary Pallbearers: Bev Gladwell, Barb Mai, Patty Schrandt, Brittany Brenner, Ruth Janisch Lake, and Stacy Janisch Aqurrie.
Private family burial will be at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
